Transitional Care Unit

The 21 bed transitional care unit at Morgan Memorial is the perfect place for patients to recuperate following orthopedic surgery, stroke, or a variety of other medical conditions or surgical procedures requiring hospitalization of three days of longer. The program's main goal is to provide the time and services a recovering patient needs prior to returning home or deciding to relocate to an assisted living community. In some cases we can provide services for those patients seeking nursing home placement but not quite ready to make the step.

Our rehabilitation team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and a recreational therapist. Working together with our highly skilled nursing staff, they are ready to meet a
patient's medical needs and provide training for family members planning to care for their loved ones at home. Since the transitional care unit is attached to the hospital, patients have access to laboratory, radiology and emergency room services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
