Our surgical services department houses state-of-the-art equipment and a highly trained staff of healthcare professionals ready to attend to patient needs with the utmost care and concern. We are equipped to handle a variety of general surgical procedures and diagnostic services. Among these are colonoscopies, EGD's, breast biopsies, hernia repairs, and the removal of cysts and skin lesions. We also perform knee arthroscopies, cataracts and a variety of other ophthalmic, orthopedic and podiatric procedures.
Any type of surgery can be stressful and every patient deserves special care. Once a procedure is scheduled, the patient will be contacted by our surgical services staff. This allows us an opportunity to go over instructions and answer any questions the patient may have about where to go and what to expect the day of a procedure. Any other tests that a physician may have ordered such as blood work, xrays or an EKG will be arranged at this time.
The operating room nurses, along with the anesthesiologist and the doctor or surgeon performing the procedure, will oversee a patient's care during surgery. Following the procedure, patients are cared for by specially trained professional nurses in Phase I and II Recovery Rooms. After dismissal, patients will be contacted at home by our surgical services staff to ensure that any questions have been answered and post-op instructions are understood.
